we visit Stroud and environment every year and visit this caffe always a few times. eating is good honest traditional foods to very cheap trips. this trip we had lunch with ham, egg and chips (other half enjoyed it) and I had a great deal, maische, erbsen and gravy. What mike m doesn't like about The Cafe Above, Walkers The Bakers:
After being a loyal customer of Walkers for many years , I’m afraid the quality of baking, pastries and bread rolls in particular, has consistently deteriorated over the last year. So much so that I will be taking my custom elsewhere, the final straw was two days ago , the “lardie “ I purchased was inedible , not worth returning as I had already arrived home. Wonderful little cafe, great sit-in area and excellent choice. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely visit again.
