My partner and I recently had an overnight stay at this old red brick Suffolk inn and we ate at the small bistro style 'Trinity' restaurant. Co-owner
For a place run by someone famous for criticising others shortcomings the Crown & Castle's food was disappointing.

"Incapable of commenting about eating because for a reservation specifically asked to ask about wheelchair access, I was recommended to the restaurant was accessible, except for the toilet. across the building it was obvious that there was one step to the door and another important threshold at the door. would have saved a trip if someone had told us."

"A group of six of us visited the Blue Naan last Friday evening. Highly recommended by our two friends from Felixstowe, and it didn’t disappoint. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the service was friendly and ‘entertaining’. My wife and I both chose...house specials we had never had before, and we’re very happy we did. We thought 3 rice, 3 naans and 3 sides with the ‘mains’ would be about right we have pretty good appetites but the portions were generous, so two of each would probably have been plenty for the six of us. Sadly, we had to admit defeat, and couldn’t finish everything. The only slight negative was that the ‘U’ table layout (two people on three sides of the table) was just a little cramped but I’m not going to let that stop me giving the overall experience five stars."

"This is the Indian restaurant my wife and I go to when we want a takeaway. The food is consistently tasty at reasonable prices. I recommend the chicken tikka it is moist, delicious, and flavoured well. The staff (especially the owner) are always friendly and accommodating. I'd recommend this place to anybody looking for a tasty Indian meal."

"We arrived early for breakfast, just a few customers sitting in the garden and 30 degree heat. We ordered 2 full english breakfasts and 3 drinks our bill was just under £32. Our hot and cold drinks were delivered to the outside table but we were told by 3 different staff that we could not have a glass for our bottled fruit juice as they had limited glasses on site and these were reserved for milkshakes and they were busy! We were offered a paper cup and straw as an alternative how old did they think we were! A basic slice of cheap brown toast arrived (though granary was on the menu), followed some minutes later by 1 breakfast, then the 2nd. breakfast came later …. A small and poor quality portion of greasy mess consisting of: 1 broken egg, watery beans, 2 barely cooked sausages and 3 slices of cold streaky fatty bacon at £11 each it was a total disappointment and rip off. It was akin to the ‘greasy spoon roadside cafe’ we would have had better food and experience at the local supermarket cafe."

"Great pub that always serves fantastic food every time we were here, especially the sticky pig bites! Plenty of space to sit inside or outside. Good selection of beer, wines and spirits. Really good service from all employees. Visiting a nice pub. Live music in the garden."

"We called here at lunchtime having found no fish restaurant open on a Monday on the seafront. I have eaten there before but it was my wife’s first visit. We ate inside and we’re made to feel very welcome. Superb cooked to order meals at...very good prices. Great value for money and highly recommended."

"On a weekend break and after a trip to Southwold we decided to pick up some chips to take back to our caravan. Once back and we unwrapped them we we’re hugely disappointed. They were dry, warm and inedible. They went straight in the bin. They had obviously been left for a while, not fresh at all."
