What User likes about Komala Vilas:
very simple, clean restaurant with excellent vegetarian South Indian cuisine. most foods are vegan, but the menu does not show which. we have idli (damped rice cake) masala dosa, wobbles rava masala dosa, vada. these dishes come with sambhar and chutney (both vegan). the pongal has ghee (butter) so not vegan. I'm not sure how helpful the employees are, as we already knew what to get. they serve only coffee with milk. View all feedback. What User doesn't like about Komala Vilas:
Good food, but disappointed by page size. read moreNestled in the Bay Area, this unpretentious eatery serves up authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine that sources nostalgia for many. Diners rave about the delicious offerings, including thalis, masala dosas, and soft idlis, complemented by flavorful sambhar and chutney. However, some patrons express disappointment over portion sizes, particularly with condiments, and inconsistencies in advertised quantities. The simple, clean ambiance reinforces the homey vibe, while the prices remain reasonable. Though the service could be more informative, the overall experience delivers hearty comfort food, making it a cherished choice for both locals and visitors seeking a taste of traditional South India.
