"Dropped in for lunch on the way to the beach. This place has been there for many years and is very much worth visiting.<br/ <br/ We both ordered a vegetable frittata with salad. Was probably the best one I have ever tasted. Well done.<br/ <br/ The lady (Ruth) behind the till was very good. Her more junior staff need to smile and engage with the client a bit more when they deliver the food. Not too bad though!<br/ <br/ The seating arrangements are great with a lovely garden to sit in.<br/ <br/ There is a sort of shop within Colenso also.<br/ <br/ Well worth visiting."

"Service was impeccable. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the food was great. We both had pasta. Only gripe. They were different types of pasta on the menu though the same on the plate. Not a big deal."

"Nice little dog friendly spot with a big sunny deck that the dogs loved. A couple Heinekens and cold beers were had while we waited for our electric car to charge up the road. Very friendly staff, highly recommend visiting. James Ashwin"

"WOW.....my wife and i really enjoyed ourselves. The pizzas were great , the service was tops and the live band dave and friend absolutely blew us away....here , in the middle of heaven....another piece of sunshine.<br/>We definately recommend this cafe on friday nights. Sit back , enjoy the food and beverages and soak up the music or go up , sing a song yourself or do a bit of poetry.....Eleven out if Ten...we will be back...thanks guys"

"We had dinner here on a Friday evening recently. We were made to feel very welcome, the meals were lovely and the décor and atmosphere great. The live music was very popular with all the diners and wasn't too intrusive on conversation. Table staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Our meals arrived promptly, and we enjoyed it so much we came for dinner the next night. We will be back next time we are in Tairua."
