"I had a meal at Hooked on Marahau recently with a friend.<br/ We had fantastic seats looking out to sea at the end of the day as the light faded. There is indoor and outdoor seating to suit your needs.<br/ Zoe is an excellent host, very welcoming, and made it seem you we're having dinner at her place.<br/ We must recommend their squid dish and give it 5 <br/ They were the biggest rings I have seen, with an exquisite and subtle flavor, and without a doubt melted in your mouth. <br/ Squid lovers you must try this dish, you will not be disappointed! <br/"

"This is a hidden gem. This venue has been a cafe for many years, but with this new ownership (owner is the chef) it is amazing. I have been before to enjoy their delicious coffee and donuts, but this visit was for an evening meal and food was to die for, the service friendly and personal. I will definitely be going back at every opportunity."

"If you're in Takaka, chances are your pants have already been completely charmed off. But if you can handle one more ounce of charming, head to The Brigand. You'll walk through a garden of outdoor seating and into a cozy bar/cafe/music venue that, with open fires roaring and booze flowing, feels more like your best friend's living room than a restaurant. That is, until the food arrives. With a heavy emphasis on fresh Kiwi produce, it's an embarrassment of riches with lamb, sirloin steak, fresh fish, spare ribs, cheese, wine, really, I'm not sure why you're still reading and not simply heading here immediately. My only regret is not getting to try the apricot schnapps cheesecake as it was sold out. Welp, I guess I'll just have to head back..."

"On a five week road trip around both of the New Zealand islands and trying the hot chips on offer every day in a different place. The Curry Leaf is No.1 in all of New Zealand! The Biggest serving of perfectly cooked and very reasonably priced potato chips we had anywhere. We turned it into a fiesta of gourmet Chip Buttys. A friendly Aussie owner Andrew THANKS mate!
