What Christa Moser doesn't like about Alpenhotel:
We stopped this restaurant on our way to zermatt, and we asked for a dish of raviolis and pizza. The pizza was a good one because it was delicious and this accompanied by a beer and cost us 46,50 chf. the very attentive and friendly waitress trying to speak Spanish to explain in detail that it was every dish and the service very fast. Stopped here for a welcome lunch after going up in the cable car to see the Matterhorn. We had a lovely fondue along with a couple of drinks expensive for what was basically a melted cheese sandwich! But then again we were in Switzerland...and the food and service were very good
We stayed at the Hotel City right next to this restaurant, and ended up coming here for dinner twice! They have a great pizza and calzone, which are reasonably priced for the area. Even though their kitchen closes at we went in at and they were able to cook for us without hesitating! Great quality-price ratio! I would highly recommend!
Slow reaction times fron the waiter, but the food was a standard “ok”, nothing special (but the matterhorn soup is recommended), the prices are correct. typical “eat and forget” place. (but nobody come for gastronomical experiences for tasch/zermatt/matterhorn, so you can eat somethinh before you...go)
Had to wait very long for food. We had to literally fight with pizza to cut and chew. Other dishes were decent though. Terrible service as well. The girl who was serving never had a smile on her face and was reacting as if we...owe her some money. They should be send to Hotel Tascherhof across the road to get inspired a bit on taste and service.
I went for a walk round the village and this place very busy usually a good indicator i had a beer and the chicken salad which was really nice and the sauce on the salad real good found the service friendly and it had a...good atmosphere so would recommend
