"We had dinner here twice and thought that the food was very good. We had a light meal the first time and the special “fish of the day” the second night. The fish, monkfish in our case, was excellent. It was not served with vegetables, so we ordered a side salad, which was quite good. The gluten-free fries were very good. The service was good, even though they are struggling with less staff than normal (typical of all restaurants on the South Island). Good GF knowledge, some information on the menu."

"I don’t know why this fish n chip shop only has 3.9 stars. We really enjoyed the fish n chips and the prices are very reasonable. The guys running the shop were super friendly and our food was served hot out of the fryer about 10 minutes after ordering. Giving 5 stars in an attempt to bring their rating up, because they definitely deserve it. If you’re in Te Anau, I highly suggest stopping by!"

"Came in there for dinner with my friends after a long day at Doubtful Sound. We got burgers and steaks. We all really enjoyed the food and my steak was cooked to perfection (medium) with a good serving of fries and peppercorn sauce. We had a few drinks after and found the staff really friendly and welcoming. I went outside for a smoke and had a nice chat with the manager and Chef and loved their upbeat kiwi humor. Long story short if you want a good meal and a few drinks with a nice atmosphere and good service I'd recommend this place."

"We wanted a cuppa and a cake. Vegan options are still advertised outside. there's only one kind of cake, a crumbcake. the first time we went, it was offered warm. I asked the second time if I could warm up this and it was said no. they do not touch our hot chocolates and seemed upset to make them. better customer service and food available in the pizzeria in the city."
