While the revamped space is inviting, the dining experience has proven to be hit or miss. Many patrons have found the food quality inconsistent, with some dishes leaving much to be desired, despite the affordable prices. However, the standout element remains the warm and attentive service from staff like Aaron and Charlotte, who consistently go above and beyond to ensure customers feel welcome. While the menu’s scaled-down offerings might disappoint some, the overall experience is promising for future visits.

I was in Colchester to pick up a friend from the hospital near this pub and decided to stop here for a late lunch. The spacious car park was inviting and the atmosphere inside was warm and friendly. The staff were all polite and had a smile on their faces, with Aaron checking in to make sure everything was okay. The menu offered a wide variety of food and drinks, making it easy to find something to suit my taste. The food arrived quickly and was well-prepared, showcasing good quality ingredients. I was overall impressed with this pub and would definitely recommend it.

Terry is so welcoming and a great person to have in the company what ever we needed it got done. I can’t wait to see what it’s going to be like when it opens again in December
Came for lunch today with my daughter and my mum, great friendly service by Karen Terry.. The food was great value for money, massive compliments to Kev. Definitely coming back after the refurb
