We had a reservation and the restaurant was empty but when they saw aour 4 pound dog (in its bag) they told us : No . The terrace of the restaurant (which has a nice view and on which I sat numerous times in the past) was closed so we had to leave. There was no reason to be rude or unprofessional, it's their place and their rules but a NO can be accompanied with charm and diplomacy which was not the case. read more.

Took a little day trip and stopped here for lunch. I had the Black Forest special which was a selection of cured meat and sausage. OH had gnocchi....

The food is not worthy of the location. This is the kind of place that doesn't need to rely on repeat customers because of its tourist-oriented location....

"This hotel is located on the south side of the park road, almost opposite the railway station. There are limited parking spaces directly in front of the hotel, with some overflow parking opposite. Parking for hotel guests is nominal €1 per night. The hotel as an amalgam of several buildings and meanders a bit inside. The rooms are spacious and clean when a little dated. Breakfast is enough. A beautiful note is the Cafetières complete with Egg Timers. They would benefit from hotter water. The staff is friendly and helpful: especially the receptionists and the bar staff. The restaurant is surprisingly good (reservations are essential) with an amazing wine and spirit list to supplement the food. There is a very good choice of Scottish Single Malt Whisky including some quite rare bottles. The food is very well cooked, but quite expensive."
