While some patrons rave about friendly and knowledgeable servers, others experienced issues with unskilled staff. Food quality receives consistent praise, with guests delighted by the brunch and dinner options. The seafood lunch and roasted dishes are particularly popular. Despite some service hiccups, the overall impression is positive, with patrons eager to return. Special events, such as brunch in the private room, are well received. The menu caters to various dietary needs, ensuring there's something for everyone. Cluny's consistency in quality and charm make it a top choice in Toronto.
They try very hard, but nothing seems to work. Chicken liver pâté was not well mixed and you could see butter in it. Big... the cal salad had too much dressing on it... how dripping! The shore dinner looked like it came from a frozen dinner... mixed and not crispy. The frits needed a cup of salt and were very strong. The wild boar bourguignon was very hard. Service is very moderate. Hostesses have a great attitude! It is extremely loud with the tile floors. Two strikes- you're out. Will never return.
Our pre Christmas dinner was a bust. I’ve been many times to Cluny never had this bad a meal, the service was terrible. What a disappointment, last time for me.
My wife and I dined at Cluny while visiting the Christmas Market at the Distillery District. The restaurant was busy, but service was prompt. Not a very extensive menu for lunch dining. I ordered the omlette, which tasty. My wife ordered the Cold tune plate. This was very disappointing. The plate did not contain any salad, and the beans very severley undercooked. My wife could not eat them. This was not an inexpensive dish. I would be cautiously about dining here, with the proviso of checking the menu first, to see if it meets your tastes and budget.
Great food and service in the heart of Toronto’s Distillery District. We shared 2 appetizers between 4 people which was perfect portion wise. The mushroom tangine is a must try. I had the flat iron steak and frites which were perfectly done. Service was excellent. Our main server Roop, was efficient and friendly and looked after all our requests in a professional manner. The bistro itself is worth the visit as the decor is very tasteful. Don’t forget to look up at the beautiful ceiling
Went here for a birthday dinner and we could not be more pleased with the food or service; both were top notch. We started with cocktails and all were well made and beautifully presented. For appetizers, the four of us shared Malpeque Oysters and the Mushroom Tartine. The oysters were fresh plump and very tasty. The tartine was bursting with mushroom and truffle flavour. For mains, the pork chop, branzino (fish) and wild boar ragout with noodles were ordered. Everyone was extremely happy with their meals and that says a lot as this can be a very discriminating bunch when it comes to food. To wrap up the meal we had a Happy Birthday ice cream plate brought to the table. Coffees all around were ordered as well. Very pleased with the food and even happier with the service. The manager and waitress were efficient, pleasant and even fun at times. Just a great crew! I am so glad we went here to celebrate a big birthday; had a great night!
