our waiter was aram and he understood the vegan options clearly and was very helpful. my sons had the veggie burritos, I had the enchiladas (very spicy but yummy), and my man had the chimichanga. all vegan! we had the apple cinnamon and the cherry liquors for dessert, we had to stop ourselves from licking the plates! local (moab) biere on hahn. clean bathroom. we would definitely come back here. read more.

Visited during the height of Covid and the owner or manager decided to give me s$*t for wearing a mask. Kind of made the rest of my meal a little less tasty. But the margarita was great! read more.

I was happy with my food here. Did the trick. There’s not a lot in the area so was glad to go somewhere with vegan options listed on the menu

"Don’t let the simple exterior fool you. The new owners of Chak Balam, Ed and Karina, are rising culinary stars. Not your typical pseudo Mexican fare. Their food was authenticity prepared with fresh ingredients and attractively presented. I had 3 different tacos, each with a unique saucing and toppings. The owners and young wait staff were attentive and kept me engaged at the comfortable bar. I had an amazing Mexican drink with beer and a secret tomato based sauce. It was a lovely meal. "We stayed here while hiking, so having dinner at the same location just made sense. We were a bit hesitant because of some of the reviews, but we enjoyed our meal! There was a bit of a wait to get seated, but that's because Cherie was working so hard she was seating people, taking orders, clearing tables, etc. Even with doing all of that, she was kind and attentive as our server. We don't mind the wait, especially when we saw how much she was doing! Our meal was tasty, and not having to leave the hotel property to eat was wonderful after a long day of hiking."
