"Excellent food we had the soup special, a dog had to taste a dog and a Greek salad huge and fresh! all fresh and delicious. Turned off with a piece of raspberry cake. The service was excellent and fast, also with a lot. Really good."

"The service was great, and the food was delicious but please make sure your staff understands what “gluten free” means. Only two items on the menu had a “GF” marking, one appetizer, and one entree. That’s not a whole lot of choice for someone with a gluten allergy in 2023, so we asked about the ingredients in other menu options, hoping there might be more choice, and there was confusion. At one point we were told that the mashed potatoes weren’t gluten free because they contained butter… Please make sure you know what gluten free means!"

"I kept my wedding here. The place is beautiful and includes many accommodation. The food was delicious. The staff is also friendly. Unfortunately, my wedding didn't go as well as I expected because I got an email 2 days before my big event in which I was told that the wedding coordinator couldn't make it my wedding because she got Covid. These things happen naturally. I was really worried about my big day after this news, but she assured me I was in good hands. Unfortunately, that was not quite the case. The day before my wedding, when my family and I arrived, there was a lot of confusion about which rooms my family would stay, even though they were reserved a bit before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the employees who now coordinate my wedding were very disorganized and not aware that all that was that on the day unfortunately due to lack of communication with the wedding coordinator and because leadership was lacking. My middle pieces never made it to the guest tables, the entrance tables or the wedding couple tables. Two dozen rose petals were bought to be blown over the tables that have not happened and they have never left the fridge. The flowers were one of the most important and expensive aspects of my wedding for me and I stressed this to the coordinator so that I am upset about it is understandable. A refund for all flowers has not been offered, they simply delivered them to my honeymoon area the next day with an apology. I do not leave this informative review to place any negativity on Friends Lake Inn. There were many beautiful weddings here, but unfortunately, mine didn't go as planned. Unfortunately, the young lady who was placed responsible for coordinating the wedding on the wedding day was nowhere to find until about half an hour before the event, so my husband had to run around like a chicken with his head lacking trying to tell people where to go and what to do until the bride was ready. That wasn't my husband's responsibility. I informed Friends Lake Inn about why I was upset about my wedding, and I talked to the owner and he offered me a free night to stay at Friends Lake Inn and asked me to make me happy? It was a very nice offer and I took it because it was again a nice place to stay and very accommodating. Unfortunately, it does not remove the past. I sincerely hope that this will not happen to any other couple, which is another reason why I decided to publish this review. The owner asked me to leave a good review after he offered me a free night stay at the Inn and I believe that a true review is exactly that. Remember, we're still in the middle of a pandemic. If you plan a wedding, you are always very careful at the venue(s) you choose, especially during the pandemic."

"Don't go there on Restaurant week. My wife and I like to try different restaurants in Lake George during restaurant week. This year 11 places participated with 3 courses for $30. We decided to try Charlie's Bar Kitchen at the Marriott Hotel. When we arrived the hostess took her time to acknowledge us. The dinners came with an appetizer , entree and dessert. I had the French onion soup and after two spoonful's out comes our server with our entrees. She said that because of Restaurant week the kitchen sends out the entrees quickly. We said that we just started on our appetizers and she said sorry and walked away. By the time we finished with our appetizer's our food was room temperature, Needless to say we felt like second class citizens because we ordered off the Special menu. After tip and tax our bill was still $100. To Management: Don't participate in the restaurant week if you are going to mistreat customers like this. The food was good even though we were rushed through dinner in an hour. Even though the food is good there are many other choices in Lake George."
