"This is a place that is driven by the love of good eating and the wine! the chef is Hungarian and has worked in several high-end restaurants all over the world. now in this small Provencal village, he practices all his skills at a very fair price. what a joy. eating is always delicious, locally inspired and often with an Asian dish on the menu (worth try). the other owner is very interested in wein and has local wine producers on the list. the ambiente is warm and relaxed."

Dishes were well-prepared although nothing really stood out.What was outstanding was the service by the owner/manager. You get treated like a second-class citizen especially if you aren't French-speaking. I would avoid this place unless you really have no choice - Moustiers Saint Marie has quite a few other top-notch restaurants."

"Simple restaurant with excellent crêpes from €11-€17 and good ice cream. Also good salads. While you eat you can look at a spectacular view with Griffon vultures circling in the distance. Friendly staff, good wine and pression biere."

"We called into Seillans on the way back from a trip as the village had been recommended to us by a friend. However, it was a Wednesday in September and sadly the restaurant he had recommended was closed as were most of the other restaurants in the village. However, Chez Hugo was open so we went there. It was around 1.15 pm and there were people already seated; we asked the waiter for a table and he said there wasn't one available. We pointed to an empty table for 2 just outside the door and he grudgingly let us sit there. It took him ages to bring the menus and then a while to come back and take the order. The place was busy as it was the only one open. There were only 2 waiters and the one who served us seemed to be the one in charge. We ordered the lamb dish which was absolutely superb. We followed this up with desserts chocolate fondant and tart citron both of which were also superb. The food is faultless, tasty and well presented. Unfortunately the service didn't match. Our waiter was completely disinterested, made no attempt to interact with us other than to take the order and generally behaved as though the customers were an inconvenience. The other waiter, who brought us our desserts, appeared happier and was more convivial and talkative. The chef/patron here is producing wonderful food but is being let down by the poor service which is such a shame."
