"My wife and I were looking forward to visiting this cafe in view of the excellent reviews . However when we arrived we were approached by a chap , possibly the owner who, instead of offering assistance to get over the threshold step told my...wife and it would be better if we did not go in as it may be unsafe. We couldn't believe this man's attitude, offered no assistance and basically made us feel unwelcome. We left disheartened that such discriminatory people still exist , although we ended up having an excellent breakfast in the Coffee Grind around the corner. I have to say in all my years visiting older buildings which do not have purpose built disabled access this is the first time I have had such a negative unfriendly experience ."

"My partner took me here for my birthday on Friday 25th November we had a really lovely meal, the food was delicious and big in portions! The ribs in particular were good! The pub itself is beautiful with old beams and a lovely fireplace, very warming and welcoming! The staff were very friendly and attentive including the manager/owner. I will definitely be coming back, a lovely hidden gem!"

"My wife and I love to come here to have a relaxed start in the morning when we have some time together. on the other day a friend came and I, while my wife was with us a little later and the staff was incredible, waited for her to make her coffee and serve her freshly prepared food!"

"Found we little place on maps when I put in restaurants near me. We weren’t disappointed the burger chips we ordered w simple, nothing fancy…but delicious! Coffees were nice, atmosphere very pleasant relaxed. Service couldn’t be faulted! Would definitely go back! A"

"This new bar from tooting bec station is a little different from the companies around tooting. it has the feeling of a grand union bar, think grammophone, statement tapete quirky trinkets. the imperial features a detailed cocktail wine list offering an Indian menu. to order food, they must call the imperial durbar to place their order from a beautiful vintage phone on the back of the bar. this is a novel way for one of the many Indian restaurants to provide the bar with food. my curry was delicious, well seasoned ams served in a Tali tank with a generous pot reis. Not the best curry in the world, but meets the place that the bar has a great soundtrack great decor."
