"Giardino Donna Lavia might actually be THE BEST restaurant I've event been to. It's not laboratory cooking nor it includes some rare, ultra-expensive ingredients. It’s simple meat, vegetables and pasta. But the tastes and flavours are absolutely amazing! We took meat menu for 25€ per person, but the feast we got was worth much, much more! Appetizers: melon with prosciutto, caponata, sweet onions, artichokes, mushrooms, sausages, fresh ricotta, mozzarella with tomatoes, grilled hard ricotta. Primo piato: 2 types of home made pasta, one with mushrooms and the other with minced lamb meet; Secondo piato: I think we had 3 different types of meet and sweets for the end (canoli, panna cotta and one more type). All food is home made and home grown. I have no words to describe it. Portions were huge, impossible to eat it all. Luigi, the owner was so pleasant and nice, made us feel very welcomed. If you are in the Madonie area, make sure to visit this magnificent restaurant!"

"We sought this place out on the recommendation of Slowfood and were happy we did. The foods of the mountainous regions inland from the coast are special in their own way, including fresh pasta made with wild mushrooms and wild asparagus, homemade sausage, etc. As they say, the true flavors of the Madonie are there, along with friendly service. The house wine is just OK, the food probably deserves better."
