Sometimes you have the craziest experiences. We had two of the quirkiest dining experiences here and loved it both times. First--Maria is a hoot. She 's the bartender, server and entertainer (I think her mother is the cook). The owner (a really weird lady) told us: I'll prepare you a beautiful Cataplana, you'll have to wait for a while, but then... Ok, half an hour later, a Cataplana arrived, full of ......Surimi!!!!! We couldn't believe what we saw. Cataplana was full of low-quality fat, small chunks of fish, and tons of surimi. This is the best way to ruin the gastronomical reputation of an island.
