"There are these places called tourists where you don't have to get caught and follow the reviews. On the frantic greedy recreation is one of those restaurants where you can go without any fear of finding yourself in a tourist trap. This establishment is held by a couple: colette and yann (one in kitchen and the other in the room). a more than warm welcome from yann that takes the time to explain the concept and the map, a refined cuisine while remaining simple because with excellent products from Colette. The place is also splendid, a carefully decorated decoration without being too busy (the risk sometimes in these old stone houses). A room of about 40 covered in two rooms so think to book, especially during the summer period of high affluence!"

"It’s now become our tradition to have our first-night in Riberac meal here and, as always we had an absolutely superb meal, this evening! Our Pizzas were just fabulous, all home made and only the best quality ingredients. I had the light version which was...served with a lovely fresh salad and dressing. Our guests chose the Moules-frites, a speciality in this restaurant, and they were amazing! A huge portion cooked to perfection and so delicious. The atmosphere was just great, it was so busy and vibrant, such a popular restaurant with locals and the staff are so lovely, just a really friendly bunch! Most of them speak English, if required, and are very helpful and efficient. Obviously things are slightly different just now, in all restaurants, due to COVID, however the owner has put everything in place and all the staff are wearing masks. They ask that you wear a mask when entering and leaving the terrace and they have their pizza menus under glass on the tables as well as their specials and deserts on boards for you to read. It certainly has not made any difference to the amazing dining experience it’s just as superb as previous years. We rounded our meal off with some gorgeous coffee and desserts, the Creme Brulee (to die for!! cafe gourmand and an ice cream sundae all went down a treat. All in all another fantastic meal at L’Escapade Gourmand!!!"

"Four of us had a wonderful evening here, the menu had lots of choice and there is a separate vegetarian menu which is delicious, we drank the house white which was also very nice. The staff are friendly, attentive and there is no rush,...plus it’s still nice enough to sit outside in the courtyard which is lovely. We all really enjoyed our evening. We highly recommend this restaurant."

"A warm atmosphere, we were welcomed by a charming hostess with a delicious little English accent. The menu is very sought after while remaining from the terroir. "We visited as a family group with four adults and two children, one in a highchair with a bad allergy, and had lunch on an extremely hot day. From the moment we arrived the service was fantastic. We were able to choose where we sat, inside in the cool! The waiter made us feel confident that the baby's allergy was understood and they made children's meals that were brought out early so they had time to eat. The waiter and waitress spoke English when we got stuck with our French. The food was beautifully plated with colours and variety. It tasted great too. The lunch menu provided us with plenty to choose from. Baby changing is available in the ladies loo. My only suggestion would be that an appropriate bin is needed to put the nappy in. We had a lovely time and highly recommend it."
