One of the best Sushi restaurants in town. Frequently packed with the Japanish community in Vancouver. The staff is just great. Always polite and professional but with charm and sense of humour. We've been there once a week while we lived there! Try the spicy maki rolls!! View all feedback.
This small downtown restaurant on Richards street is not located all that close to the tourists sites (It is below Granville Street and above Yaletown). Still it is only a 10-15 minute walk from the main downtown core. Locals know about the great food and value of this unique Japanese tapas restaurant. Do not let the relatively plain exterior fool you, Plus Alpha is a real gem. There is a wide variety of sharing plates (hot and cold) and well made sushi. The sushi rice itself is one of the better ones I have tried. The staff pay careful attention to quality, whether it be food or service. Apparently, there is also a great selection of different drinks, although I always enjoy beer with sushi. This is one of favourite downtown cafes/restaurants and it is certainly much more reasonable in price than many of the other places to eat in the area.
We came across this place by accident, and weren't we glad. A really good menu including great seafood dishes, all freshly prepared. Friendly service and really good value for money.
I am hesitant to share this secret, but I visit this restaurant 3-4 times a month. In a town with many sushi bars, this place always stands out to me. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. Despite its simple appearance from the outside, their Toro sashimi is absolutely amazing! It is usually priced at $14 for 5-7 pieces, and I find myself ordering it every time I visit.

I am not a fan of fast food, but I have a clear understanding of my preferences.
