What Dre V doesn't like about Tru Jamaica:
My husband so excited to try this place so we stopped on our way to Austin. I wish we didn't. The customer service was good, but they need to hire more front staff. The guy taking orders was also the host, waiter, bartender, and whatever else. He did keep his cool though. Nice guy. I had the beef patty and curry goat plate. The beef patty was ok. TruJamaica is the best restaurant in central Texas and never fails to brighten my day.
The food at this restaurant is consistently delicious and tender. My favorite dish to order is the veggie patty, which is made fresh and is also very tasty. I would definitely recommend this place.
The jerk chicken breast and jerk chicken were amazing! The patties were incredibly authentic and reminded us of Jamaica.
The rice was great. plantains and the jerk sauce where delicious. but the chicken was old I think. it would fall of the bone like it was tender but was dry and tough.
Oxtails werent tender. Curry chicken was dark meat sections that were rubbery and had some weird straw like items that I thought were hair.
