I wanted a quiet place to eat something and a coffee from before a morning business in wakefield and saw this place a few weeks back. they do not advertise much, so it is very low key, but what a precious it is. I could relax and a beautiful North Star coffee (filter only that is perfect! and a beautiful sausage and egg bag. amazing, the lady that served me was also super friendly. will be back. Love this place… great filled bagels, friendly owner, great coffee and beer and best of all, good jazz in a tiny hidden garden.

"Just moved to the area from down south- returning to ‘God’s Own’. Had a great local F&C take out in Pinner so we were on a mission to replicate this. When we found The Grumpy Frier we hit the jackpot. Freshly cooked fish and delicious fries. The curry sauce is amazing. Highly recommend."
