I love this place, it's a lot going on. they have improved the menu and offer good vegetarian and vegan options now. the type of pub where you can walk on yoyr alone and enjoy a quiet drink with a book, or take a group of rowing mates. a good mix of people, a friendly atmosphere and a relaxing ambiente. my only criticism would be that some of the bar staff could do with a bit of customer service training. I’ve lived in Leytonstone for ten years, and the Red Lion used to be an exciting, comforting and progressive feeling pub. Sadly as many noted it’s not only the food that’s declined but the service and general feeling of being welcomed.
