What Abhishek Srivastav doesn't like about The Spice Merchant:
My review is based on just one instance of take away but based on the food, I wouldn't dare to visit again. Chicken Tikka Masala was a red sludge while Chicken Pasanda was a sweet yellow version of the same. Appalled at how little effort was put into making these dishes anywhere close to what they really are. We ordered Dal, and a couple of other dishes too which were all below expectations. The large selection of coffee and tea specialties greatly enhances the value of a visit to The Spice Merchant, On the menu there are also several Asian dishes. The Asian fusion cuisine is likewise an important part of The Spice Merchant. Anyone who finds the normal and generally known dishes too boring should approach with a willingness to experiment and try some exciting combination of ingredients enjoy, With typical Indian spices, menus are fine and freshly prepared.

"Kerrie and james cooksley we had our high-time reception and evening party of ian ,josh and the family looked after and it was absolutely first class. eating was a fantastic 3-course carvery nicely served and the evening buffet was a wonderful sortiment nothing was too much annoyed. the room was beautifully decorated, just as I asked everyone was needed in a relaxed friendly atmosphere that we really enjoyed all day specially made by ian and his family help. I would recommend the ring of bells for each event it is a wonderful place and very well run and excellent value for money and nothing is too much annoyed. many thanks to isn josh dn all that made the day so special"

"Last week, I sunk for a drink for the first time before eating was terrible. the new owner michaela, partner and her team in the last two years seem to have cleaned the place high. good one- and weingut with friendly staff is cozy welcome. I had a pint exmoor gold and a glass nz white wine. I thought I ordered fish and chips after a conversation about hitting home, but only chips came out. it doesn't matter if it's an engagement. later afternoon in the week, but I can't remember better chips, next time I'll make sure I fish too."

"We have stayed in Dunster on many, many occasions. Thank goodness we have at long last discovered Hathaways. Absolutely gorgeous menu, service and cooking resulting in the best three course meal we have enjoyed for a very long time. Warm, welcoming and a relaxed atmosphere.
