The moment we walked into the door, we received a warm friendly greeting from all the staff including chefs in the kitchen. The ambience was relaxing and pleasant. The food and drinks what can I say? Every dish was memorable, unique, exciting, thoughtfully plated the theatre added a wow factor. A magical experience beyond my wildest expectations. "We had a well-deserved coffee and cake at Willow Trees Café after a lovely cross county walk. Refreshments were excellent and it was nice sitting outside by the river Lea (there was even a swan on the river with several young cygnets). There is not much parking at (or near) the Café so most people walk from Wheathampstead (along the Lea Valley Walk) or walk cycle from Harpenden along the old railway line (which is also part of the Lea Valley Walk). The café does have a set of cycle racks. It should be noted that the café is only at weekends and bank holiday Monday’s between May Bank Holiday weekend and August Bank Holiday Monday. Contactless payment is now accepted and additional outside seating has recently been added."

"The best cake I've ever had! filled with freshly made quality and served with perfectly made chips and plucked. 3 of us each ordered another and each meal was uniquely delicious. the kiddie fish finger and chips were quite large, but enough for the dinner left service was very friendly and efficient, although it might have been nice to know their names. I will definitely recommend the bell inn and know where to go back in the opposite."
