"We had a pretty terrible meal here. The deep fried starters were okay, as was the salad, but anything made ‘fresh’ was a mistake. Bread rolls burnt on top and not cooked in the middle, soup was brown water, Sunday lunch offered a dry crumbly...meat with a mix of completely uncooked veg and total mush that slid through the prongs of the fork. We ordered some side dishes and puddings that never came at all and we had to ask to have them taken off the bill at the end. No one asked if our food was okay, so presumably the staff know it isn’t. It was a special occasion, but they were late showing us to our table and then rushed us at the end of the meal because they had mistimed it for the next booking. I think it would have been hard for them to make it any less ‘special’. The play area is dangerous, with rotten wood and broken play equipment. I can see they’re very busy at the moment, but getting a carpenter in to fix things up needs to be a priority. It’s not safe. It’s such a nice building and location, it was a real shame about the food and the maintenance of the garden. If you visit, stick to drinks and maybe a plate of chips. I don’t understand where the good reviews have come from."

"This review is not about the food which is passable, there are better Indian restaurants in the area. I visited with friends and although most of the staff are OK there is one older gentleman serving who as soon as we had finished our meal brought the bill and asked if we were paying cash or card, we said card, he straight away brought the card reader and said are you putting service on the card, we said no we will leave cash. We felt we were being rushed into paying, almost as if we weren't trusted. This waiter then went to sit and have his meal but kept looking over, as soon as we put our tip on the table he stopped eating, came over took the tip and put it in his pocket and went to finish his meal. He wasn't our main server but looks like he was keeping our tip. It left us with a nasty feeling. I thought he was very rude the way he was acting. It's a shame as the other waiters seemed nice. I won't be going back."

"Impeccable service in a gorgeous space with a skylight across the top. The dishes we ordered were starters- Mille feuile with beetroot; crab raviolo; scallop with chicken- were all superb. Beautiful plating and proper portion sizes. Also I would be remiss to not mention the warm sourdough served with the best butter ever and an olive hummus spread. All the ingredients were high quality. The staff were all wonderful. Highly recommend."
