First time visiting and could not have been happier with the evening. The menu was mostly sourced locally. The wine list was small but well rounded. Appetizers and entrees exceeded expectations. The atmosphere is rustic, reminded me of a winery. Our server, Kiran, was excellent which was great given it was his first day. Will be a regular going forward. View all feedback.

Celebrated my wife's 60th birthday. The owner walked around the dining room and never spoke to us. The waitress put a candle on a desert that we had to order and we pay for. Not the kind of “special attention” for patrons celebrating a special day like anywhere else I've ever dined. View all feedback.
Glad we decided to stop in at Cochon on 2nd. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and the food was excellent. My wife had the beef tenderloin, which was perfect. I had the scallops were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. 11 out of 10.

As I stared above. Here is my difference on the restaurant. There was a large party that questioned a charge on the bill that was removed. It was almost a 3 percent charge for using a credit card. First, who uses cash anymore and further look into Virginia law on fees and charges. Unfortunately my fee was not removed. The bartender was a very kind individual and the company I encountered was incredible. Please pay attention to the bill and charges when they are not posted. I know peddy but percentage does add up in numbers.
I originally was not going to write this review because I've eaten here a lot and have always received great service and the food has always been top notch. Driving down from Richmond for my birthday was a must. Sadly, this time, was not great. My husband made reservations on Friday 7/26 at 7pm. We arrived a little early and were seated right away. Our server, while kind to the table next to us, was not friendly to us and we felt rushed. My husband had to flag him down for a glass of wine because he was ignoring us. Our steaks came out basically rare, after ordering them medium and we didn't see our server until the end of our meal so we couldn't even tell him our steaks were wrong. After spending years talking this place up to my husband, we both left disappointed.
