boyfriend and I stopped in to grab a very quick bite drink on our way to Philly for a concert and service was SO quick and the bartender was super sweet. Didn’t get her name but I absolutely loved her. Really great bar food. The mozzarella sticks were perfect (def recommended by me, a self-proclaimed mozz stick connoisseur). Got a malted milkshake to-go and it was absolutely delicious!!! View all feedback.
What Jay Smith doesn't like about Charcoal Pit:
The Kennett Square burger with mushrooms, Swiss and bacon was delicious. I appreciated the ability to customize it to my preference, such as choosing between medium rare or well done. The vanilla shake was also very tasty. The service was excellent as well. Upon revisiting the restaurant recently, I found that the food and service were still top-notch. The soup of the day was also exceptional. Although the restaurant... View all feedback.
I've been here for 12 years and was my return today. Unfortunately, it was a great disappointment. At the beginning the restaurant is dirty from the tables, to the floor in the kitchen. To say it must be cleaned and rebuilt is an understatement. Second, it was 77 degrees today. It was 78 degrees inside. Turn A/C. Staff was fine, but my drink was empty after I finished for the majority of our lunch. We were also right next to the soda machine. Fail. The saving grace is the food. It's good, but not spectacular. Would be so much better if this place was updated. I get the story, but time to modernize and clean.
The hamburger was boiled on a charcoal grill. It was perfect! I had the onion rings instead of pommes. You were great. My husband had pommes with him. He said they were great. The milkshakes are fantastic!
The staff was friendly and the children's menu was great. Even had the opportunity to get a clown sunshade for the kids for about $2. I had the Bisonburger, it was okay. Just a standard burger. Had to pull a star on it, as well as the waiter who gives us broken used crayons for children until they found one.
Had dinner here with my son after a basketball game. Service and food were great. Black and Bleu Salat was amazing.
Some of the most memorable ice cream I've had recently. The root beer float was perfect and the vanilla ice cream was a treat to my taste buds. Mac and cheese wedges were perfect how we like them. The burger could have been a bit less cooked. I had ordered medium rare but it was close to well done. Yet the taste was still good and fresh. The bun is a nice sturdy vessel that didn't get overly soggy.
