We visit once a week, we enjoy the whole experience so much such welcoming friendly staff, great atmosphere and excellent food, particularly the 'al forno ' dishes.......just like nonna used to make in Italy! Love the new Autumn menu. Beautifully renovated old building, always clean, staff very helpful and friendly, good Italian food, reasonable choice for vegetarians. Love the cosy bay seating. Totally unprezzoed Food was all bland and tasteless. Ridiculously overpriced. Garlic bread didn 't taste of garlic. And was small for nearly £5. Carbonara had hardly any sauce, tasted of nothing and chicken was tough as old boots. Cocktail (Cappuccino Martini) was nice, but small for £6. Wine overpriced at £5.50 for a small glass. Often use this Prezzos as it is within walking Distance of my daughter, staff and friendly and helpful and the food delicious.

"Lisa and Dave are so inviting that you could easily bask in their cosy, warm and friendly surroundings all day long. They truly create a very special place, somewhere that stays in your mind and sticks to your heart. Their food is fantastic. I find a small savoury selection is a true sign of a confident master chef. The patties are the very best I’ve tasted, the cheesey scone was delicious and the soup was packed with flavour! The cake selection is phenomenal even if you are full, take a mini selection of treats or a slice of cake home otherwise you will regret it! "Passed through on my walk of the Essex Way in the May day bank holiday weekend. The previous 2 pubs I had tried were closed and I was hankering for an evening meal and a rest so I came to the Windmill not realising how fancy it was! Despite that and my less than ideal attire, the waitress was as an an angel to a weary traveller and found me a seat. After a bread basket with a deliciously salty spread, a cauliflower risotto and of course a chilly pint, a man on the edge walked another few miles or so into the night and slept happily in the woods with a smile on his face. I will have to return one day the classiness of the place mixed with its quaint but very highly refined pub vibe is exquisitely peaceful and the food is like dining on dreams. Only giving it 5 stars because 1000 isn't an option."
