Top quality food with very reasonable price. $65 tasting menu is a great way to try their food if you have never been here before, it will not disappoint you and its worth every penny. The bonus is the service. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Glad something extraordinary finally opened in the Macedon Ranges."

"We tried to make a reservation here for a Monday lunch and were put on a wait list. We tried again on the morning of our departure for Castlemaine and to our delight were rung back just as we were about to leave to be told that there had been a cancellation.The lunch consisted of a set menu of Annie Smithers choices for the week. This included a very generous serve of a fabulous terrine. Then came a smoked trout salad followed by roast chicken with potatoes and greens followed by our choice of a desert or cheese.A truly memorable meal with superb quality food, perfectly cooked and great service in a most pleasant surroundings."

"I have been visiting here for many years and love the bread, coffee and food in general. Today I attended a sourdough workshop and cannot recommend it highly enough. The 'mystery ' was taken out of sourdough and I learned so much. We were well fed and watered and left with course notes, a certificate, leaven, flour to feed our leaven, and numerous delicious loaves of bread. It was worth every cent. A thoroughly enjoyable day!"
