"We came here while on vacation at the recommendation of a local couple that we met on the beach. Hands down the best fish and chips we've ever had. We ended up back here twice in the week we were in Waldport. The halibut and chips is fantastic and my husband ended up getting the Seafood Platter with halibut, prawns and scallops the second time we went and it was also great!! Super fresh seafood, really well cooked."

"Driving thru on a road trip and stopped by right before closing for takeout. We got a carne asada plate and some enchilladas. I wouldn't say this is great Mexican food in general. Perhaps it is for the area but in general no. The carne asada meat was really gross. I can't even tell you what cut it was or anything. It was legit just a hunk of meat that may have been boiled. No sear or grill marks.... It was like a dog steak. My dog enjoyed it but I did not. It came with chips and salsa which was nice and the margaritas were not bad but most likely just a regular bottled mix with tequila. It was our only option at that time so if it's also your only option: lower your expectations."

"My family and I come stay in Newport every 2 years and we always come eat here. The food is just so damn good. Highlights: moo shu pork and the sesame balls for dessert. The couple that runs it are so nice. Please keep this place open so we can come back here next time."

"Hilltop is a terrific restaurant. It’s a family restaurant offering a good variety of food. Staff is friendly and service is excellent. I tried the Kettle Burger with potato salad. The burger was different and delicious. The potato salad, made in house, was excellent. I highly recommend the Hilltop Cafe Bistro. I look forward to eating there again the next time I’m in Waldport."

"We went with the family and eating was very low qaulity and was simply not prepared or well cooked. I ordered the $20 halibut and chips. the halibut was only spiced with what they put on the fries, and it was extremely dry to need a drink. the price for a meal that is badly cooked is very sad to see in a restaurant on the coast. my wife got the bowl of mush and everything was good except that everyone else had sand in it. the Clam-Chowder has not been properly prepared and they have clearly not cleaned the muddles very well. when I go to a place next to the coast and get very simple meals like fish and chips and chowder, I expect it is very good. if there is no reason that I come back because there are many other restaurants that will make it right. I would love the chance that you can do this right and serve me another. but until then I will not return. I hope to hear from you. Apart from all this, the atmosphere was a little above the square and the sitting was spreading. the waiters were beautiful and well maintained. I appreciate the service they want to offer, but I would like to see revisions."

"Food was good enough, veggies were a bit under done for my liking. But still good. Scored by coming during the Celtic(? festival where they had extended hours and live music! Paddle Out rooms were about 15$ higher than what you get vs a cheap hotel. Nice and clean though. Bed was too soft for my preference though. Would recommend both food and rooms if passing through.
