"Entering the restaurant was a bit scary. There were boxes lining the hallway and one of the diners in our group is unsteady on her feet and we had to be very careful of tripping hazards. There seemed to be work being done under the restaurant (a piping issue? and so there was mud and debris not inviting at all. We had made reservations and seated immediately. Our server was personable, patient, and knowledgeable. He made the evening enjoyable. I started with a Caesar salad that I shared with my dining partner. It was delicious; whole anchovies, fresh greens, and not overly dressed. The portion was very satisfying. The chef sent out an amuse bouche shrimp with mango in a cream sauce. It was not good. I had pasta bolognese with fresh pasta. The sauce was flavorful with too much sweetness to it and the pasta was over cooked. The noodles were congealed into a clump, so you couldn 't twirl the pasta, you had to cut and scoop it like a casserole. I couldn 't eat it and was very disappointed. This is a no brainer dish. If this isn 't done correctly then there is definitely a problem in the kitchen. My dining partner had linguine with clam sauce and loved it. We passed on desert. My overall takeaway was the chef and cooks need to get the basics down then expand the menu. Perhaps they need a field trip to taste and learn about proper cooking of fresh pasta?"
