"Went out for a quiet night with friends who live in the area. Sat outside which was lovely and urban but still quiet on the corner of Dundas but up the side street. Food was good and I’d definitely go back (especially if I...lived in the area) but nothing hit the ‘memorable’ level though we certainly tried a number of their top items. Will say the caccio e pepe was the best item though mostly because the pasta consistency was perfect (sauce Service was friendly but efficiency : speed. Lots of empty glasses passed by etc..."

"Massimo Bruno is a supper club catering to larger groups by pre-arrangement. We were here for a wedding anniversary and enjoyed a superb meal, starting with several very tasty antipasti through two kinds of pasta, a fish course, a meat course (bistecca alla fiorentina; yum), and two kinds of dessert, the whole accompanied by good Italian wines. It was a four-hour experience that I will not easily forget: a truly splendid dinner, and definitely the best Italian meal I've ever had outside Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy."

"We visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday party. We had a very lovely spot on the roof top patio. The food was great and our server was exceptional. Among 4 of us we ordered (as far as I remember) Giuggiolosa, Verde, Calamari alla Griglia, Quattro Stagioni,Capricciosa and Pappardelle alla Iosa. Everything was cooked to perfection. I definitely recommend this place to anybody else.Tip: this place gets very busy on weekend evening, so if you want to book space on a rooftop patio, you need to call far in advance. Enjoy"

"Amazing coffee and a wonderful beer list adds to the fact that the truly delightful staff at the Summerhill location make this a favourite in the city. One never feels rushed, or dealing with intimidating and surly staff. When all one hears are Toronto horror stories, the staff here are never anything but professional, personable and respect their work."

"I had dinner with family on a cold Monday night. The atmosphere in this small place is warm and charming and the place was packed.I had a glass of Riesling and it was a good choice -- fruity and delicious. The skate with autumn vegetables and walnuts; half-a-chicken with frits, and sweetbreads got rave reviews from my family. My husband found his charcuterie platter to be a disappointment, but it might have been a better choice for lunch.I will definitely go back!"

"First time visiting the Works and was a bit suspicious when our party of three were the only ones in the place! But my concerns were totally unfounded as the meal was wonderful. Great service, bottomless fries and a hilariously diverse range of buns, toppings...and burgers!! Caesars were also fabulous!! Seems the trend for ‘restaurant’ burgers in the big city is hovering just below $20 but when they are this good and come with bottomless fries, it’s pretty hard to beat!!!"

"It was really unexpected with three restaurants which I had in mind that I went to had an hour plus of wait time for a table. As I walked along Eglinton, I stumble upon Balsamico. I never know why I didn't notice this quaint, awesome restaurant before. Maybe because it was right next to Little Sisters and I assumed it was all one restaurant. But my friend pointed out and we thought since we haven't tried this place, I'd give it a go. And the stars aligned, with just very minimal wait time. It was after all dinnertime that I was there. Linda the hostess was amazing! If you don't know what to order or is plagued with indecisiveness, she the one that you should look for. She asks the right questions and reviews the right choice which you've already chosen, before making the recommendation. And then tells you the justification. Just awesome for a want it all person like me!! The atmosphere was comfortable and efficient as there is a smaller table and they cleaned it out right away, before the next dish comes arrives on your table almost like an orchestrated symphony. If you are craving for Italian, check out this place. It gets my vote for good food, good service, great recommendations and ambience."
