"Excellent service and excellent food....nicely spaced tables and a great atmosphere...highly recommended the laurels. you're not rushing, nice cash for a few drinks before and after eating. we had scallops, salt and pfeffer huhn and pate. the mains were steakstroganoff, turbot and lobster and a blue ribeye steak. everything perfectly cooked."

"First time to visit here and we loved the place absolutely. we were sold by fleur who really friendly, fast, efficient and attentive and the place. the food was so delicious and was really decadent with love to detail served, each mouthful was the heaven. the place itself is simply so beautiful and cozy. the live music of the wednesdays made it even more amazing. do not wait to come back here!"

"Had the roast dinner. Chicken and beef good but roast potatoes a big disappointment. Tasted as though they’d been cooked for hours and reheated. Noticed that other diners left them so not a one off. Otherwise enjoyable and nice atmosphere."

"Well what can I say, what a wonderful weekend we have had at the Lock and Quay. First it was party time with Santa, we as a family thoroughly enjoyed it, my daughter loved every minute of it, the food was amazing and the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough, not just for us but for everyone. Today was breakfast with Santa, again the breakfast was delicious. Again the staff were first class, including Santa, fantastic job! my daughter's face was a picture and she was so excited when she saw Santa! Thank you for everything to all the staff for a wonderful weekend! We will definitely be back, excellent customer service, friendly staff and amazing food! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and thank you again for making my daughter's weekend so special and magical "

"I wanted to eat something, was asked if we had booked, but we didn't. because there were only two of us, they immediately found us a table. eating was exceptional and nicely expensive. will definitely be back."

"Went at midday for Sunday roast. Was told it was chicken and beef. Ordered 2 roast, 1 nutroast and 1 fish and chips. Ten minutes later we were told the beef wouldn't be ready until 4pm. 45 minutes later the food arrived. Roast potatoes looked good but were soggy and cold, the broccoli was hard and cold, nutroast was burnt on the edges, mash was cold. The chick was not a roast just a dry chicken fillet tgat tasted horrid. The lovely staff asked was everything ok but was nit at all surprised when I told them it was absolutely vile and I would not be paying for it. One actually said I don't blame you I'm fed up with it. Never in my life have I not paid for my food no matter what. Hubby ate his fish and chips so said I would pay for that. £21 fir 4 coke and a frozen fish and chips. Absolutely rank"
