"Called in the the restaurant upstairs for lunch on a Friday. The plate of bread, beetroot dip, olive oil and olives was a nice and tasty way to start whilst perusing the menu. We decided to start with the special anchovies - yummy salty deliciousness they were too. We followed with the blue eye fish starter and the baked onion stuffed with (amongst other things) goats cheese and bacon - both really good (photos attached). Our son had his usual steak and chips and rated the steak 9 out of 10.Not cheap but a great lunch washed down with good beer brewed on the premises."

"Ricotta was a tiny, wet portion. Mushrooms were undercooked and flavourless.Zuchini fritters were tasty and just barely fried enough to move from soggy to crispy and warm, but still not hot. Sourdough toast was forgotten. Side order of sausage wasn’t brought, then delivered undecooked halfway through the meal. The $4 ‘italian sausage’ was a 20c Woolies packet sausage. A shameless, disgraceful ripoff.Coffee merely average and service were ok. Location is attractive, but indifferent, poor quality food makes this an absolute no go for brekky or brunch."

"El Phonecian, in the heart of Paramatta lies this Lebanese restaurant. A large restaurant space with alfresco dining as well. Great for large groups or just with friends and family. We had pickled vegetables, and dips; chilli, hummus and pita and fried pita to accompany it. All nice dips that you could mop up easily with the bread. We also had salad and some extra good falafel, followed up by chicken and vegetable skewers, served with garlic sauce. Nicely cooked and the sauce was nice and potent with the garlic flavour. Finished off with Lebanese sweets; pastries and a fruit platter. All nice food, great for sharing, being in a group we didn't have too many of the larger dishes so would be good to sample those too. Also had a Lebanese beer with salt and lemon which I thoroughly liked.<br>
Service was friendly, thanks for having us!
