Old style pub venue with great bar food at reasonable prices. We ate in the downstairs area where there is a great choice and board specials on the menu . The meals downstairs are very reasonably priced. We did not use Restaurant upstairs so this is purely about bar menu. Cosy with fire going in winter. Thoroughly recommend. View all feedback.

The beer is over rated by many locals. It attempts a British style but is way off the pace. None of the beers have much depth to them and one feels they are just trading on former reputation.The food menu is reasonable. I chose the beef pie with mash and mushy peas. Fabulous beer bartered fish and chips from the bar menu. Fast friendly service. Eat nice and hot and a decent portion. Large selection of beer.
Great neighborhood for a beer. Many locals. The pizza was pretty good for the pub. The Argyle Place neighborhood is a fun place to explore.
