"This place is a must stop if you're in Avila and into wine. The owner, Manny, has been in the local wine business for decades now. He's got a ton of knowledge about the wines he stocks but presents them in a very down-to-earth way. The wines in his shop are a connoisseurs dream if you're familiar with the local wines, or you want to try a variety of our regional wines for the first time without visiting multiple wineries ... he carries the very best of Paso and the central coast (with some quality selections from Napa, Sonoma, and Santa Barbara) but........ he has the older vintages! Ever been to a tasting at a winery and loved the wine, bought some bottles, and the sommelier advised you to cellar them for 3-5 years or more? If you're in line with the average, those bottles were drank within the first year (if not the within the first month) ... they tasted as good as they did at the winery, but you felt you were missing out on something great if you'd held them for a while. Manny has done the hard work for you, and at the Avila Wine Co, you can buy the best wines from top local producers that have been perfectly cellared for 5-10 years... all at prices that typically parallel what those same producers are selling their current releases at."

"They do not allow made to order sandwiches for the adults but did all order of plain made to order sandwich for kids but then after order completed informed us they were out of the ham. I asked for plain cheeseburger with cheese only. She told me I could only switch the kind of meat (I assume since the burger was a different price than sandwich). We had been a large party of about 16 on 3 separate checks so we must have spent 200 dollars. Burger cost was $9. Usual sandwich for adults with all the fixings was $12. Felt she's should have given me the burgers. Pastrami amount was less than expected on sandwich. No saurkraut. They did not put salad dressing with salad. Staff less than friendly. I did like they had paper boxes. Serves with fries. No option given. I would've preferred something else since heavy fries at beach does not feel good. Wish we'd gone somewhere else"

"Beautiful view off the pier, but the food was disappointing. The garlic fries had too much garlic on them which didn?t taste good, the crab cakes were just okay, and the crab melt tasted like fake crab and not much else. It was pretty expensive for what we got. Wouldn?t recommend. Also, the bathroom was pretty gross. Crab cakes $14 for 2, crab melt $15, garlic fries $6, steamed veggies $4. Just keep an eye out for the birds! They?ll try to get your food sometimes if you sit outside"

"4 out of 8 Ordered the scallops shrimp rice special. Scallops were cold and raw inside but didn’t want to make a fuss, we all were sick the next morning. Should have made a fuss. Beautiful table, great service. 3rd time eating dinner there and food is subpar. But will we return for the ambience… probably:"

"The food and prices were on point. There was a lack of free water, but I had a beer so that didn't really affect me but I took notice. Taco Shack was fairly busy but they got our order out quickly. Also the restaurant was very clean despite being next to the beach. I'll likely visit again."
