"This is a very well furnished bar that sells a decent house ale brewed for the pub.Food is reasonably priced and varied .I will come again when in that area."

"This was our first visit and we will be back. There are so many dishes we want to try. The food is fantastic, full of flavour, beautifully presented. The Tempura Prawns were beautiful, cooked perfectly with a crunchy batter coating. Thai Green Curry was very traditional with a nice balance of spice and flavour. Stir Fry was flavoursome and a good mix of chicken and vegetables. It was a very busy night with lots of delivery drivers collecting orders this is good as it shows how popular the restaurant is, but service in the restaurant was affected. It didn’t spoil our evening though."

"Service was good and the food was nice. A pint of Kingfisher was £5, chicken korma £8.75, plain nan £2.95, lemon rice £3.95 and an ice cream dessert £4.25. My only complaint is that a tip was automatically added to the bill. I find this practice to be rude; the decision to give a tip (and how much to give) should be entirely up to the guest. I suspect they do this knowing that most people are too embarrassed to ask for it to be removed, or hope that people don't notice."

"It's all too rare I find a café serving steak kidney pudding these days but this place does. A large pudding, with creamy mash, peas, baby carrots, gravy washed down with a pot of tea for What's not to like?"

"Pizza’s were nice, but did lack toppings. No complaints for the dessert, however service wasn’t particularly good. Staff were friendly but not attentive whatsoever. Felt like 75 of the time in Ugo’s was spent waiting to be served or plates/glasses to be cleared. They were mostly chatting in a group by the bar for long periods. We had were forced to collar waitresses many times as we were waiting for so long. It was evident to see other tables had a similar experience. Based on this, I’m reluctant to return."

"Typical local pub facing a busy roundabout on the A127 between Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness...nor really the calmest environment, especially if (weather permitting), you're sitting outside. Nothing extraordinary, not a country pub, not a gastro-pub, not a trendy pub, not a micro-pub... Just a nice local pub with its daily local customers. Sometimes difficult to get a table and very tiny counter too. Selection of food ok."
