"We visited there as we arrived to Ukee, the food was delicious and excellent service! Very friendly staff, I had the breakfast poutine my husband had the burrito and my kids hotdogs! Little one has renamed his hotdogs as 'The awesome dog '. We walked out very happy and satisfied! Definitely coming back next visit to Uculet."

"We landed in Ucluelet on a wet Wednesday in August. We checked Happy Cow and the vegan options were very limited. We believed in Frankie’s and asked if they had something to say vegan, "yes, we have afterlife meat sausages" They came with salad and vegan poutine. I had only Fritten and Gravy with him (not a lover of Daiya cheese). Other vegan options were salads and pommes. I know this may not be so good, but Ucluelet is SO limited. This was a jewel of a fund and the best food I had on the island all week. Beer was good too!"

"Looking for something to eat after a long day in nature we discovered the Matterson House by chance. We went on to the porch and asked if a table for 6 was available.As we didn't want to sit outside (it was already cooling down) we had to wait for 10 minutes until a very friendly waitress led us to our nicely prepared table.We ordered starters and drinks and later the main cours.Everybody was surprised and really impressed. Everything was delicious. We especially recommend the locals' favorite: Crispy Chicken in Raspberry sauce. Very yummy! Also the desserts were really good. Totally worth the wait! :-)"

"Casual dine in place in the quaint little town of Ukee. Seating is bit cramped for bigger groups. Cedar Plank Salmon turned out a bland maple soya glaze? and didnt meet expectations.. Primavera Veggie pasta were ok albeit the confusion on the orders. Veggie version of Fettucini Alfredo was mediocre. Food portions are ok and taste is overall ok. No one should get annoyed if the customers ask more questions about the food and or its ingredients. Service could improve a lot. Overall an average experience"

"Didn't eat there--had a vegetarian lunch twice next door at Ukee Dogs, but the place was neatly painted, seemed to be on good terms with the staff at Ukee, and an acquaintance told us that the meat falls off the bones of Hank's Untraditional BBQ if you just look at it! Enjoy, all your meat eaters!"

"I should have believed the Trip Advisor rating and skipped this restaurant, but other venues were packed and we were hungry. Service was not slow (as many reviews indicate) but the hamburgers were awful: Really oddly flavored. Plus I asked for my cheeseburger plain and it came loaded with everything. When I mentioned this and that I needed a new bun without sauce, an un-toasted bun on a small plate was plunked down on the table a couple of minutes later. I could not finish the meal. Fries were so so. The view is good, but not worth the price of a meal."
