"We spent one night in Chartres in January 3022 and based on our hotel recommendation s we went to Serpente. It is located right in front the right side of the cathedral. We didn’t have a reservation but although it was fully booked for the night they were very nice and added an additional table between two rows of tables to accommodate us. The main restaurant room has a nice inviting decor and tables placed at the window have view on the cathedral. The back room is more generic. The service was great and the waiter kept checking on us. We ordered local oysters which were fresh, presented on a bed of ice. Then we took the steak Tartare which was bland and a but disappointing. It would have been a lot better if they had added a egg yoke, capers, etc…"

"Arrivés dans le très beau bâtiment nous nous engageons vers la cour de la brasserie bien garnie. Accueil très stylé sans etre obsequieux, choix de carte intéressant, et surtout bon conseil pour le vin , a tous les prix, en demandant la carte des vins (presque sans fin...) du restaurant Georges. Service efficace et rapide."

"Volevamo cenare in un altro ristorante che era però chiuso per la pausa estiva. Una signora al balcone ci ha gentilmente indicato questo Bistrot molto carino, piccolino con una sala al primo piano e una bella terrazza. Cibo squisito, servizio efficiente e gentile, carta interessante con ottimi piatti ad un prezzo ragionevole. Bella carta dei vini, birra artigianale locale e dessert artigianali, così come i gelati."

"Stayed at Ibis across the road just had to walk across the dual carriageway, so look the right way. When we got there we were greeted by very friendly staff joking etc waiter was really good with my 4 teenagers . Food came quickly and was very good, burgers and steaks all round. We had drinks and a couple of chocolate mousses a beer and a bottle of wine for 150 Euro 6 people we were not rushed to pay and could have stayed longer if we were not so tired. Great first evening in France."

"After being let down by our hotel we had to find an alternative. We ended up at Courtepaille and had a pleasant evening for 50 euros. That was main course, sweet coffees for 2."
