"What an amazing little gem of a pub/restaurant. Had an amazing meal in this charming place. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding. A must visit if you are in the vicinity best place for vegan food around. And...apparently (according to my wife) the fish was stunning too."

"I'm not a serial reviewer of restaurants but I had to acknowledge the wonderful meal we enjoyed at Asquiths in Lostwitheal last night. The staff were attentive and extremely accommodating of my mother's food intolerances adapting her menu choice (the venison haunch) to meet her dietary needs with consideration and understanding. The food, cooked to order and with great care, was presented beautifully and was absolutely delicious. The excellent service and decor made the evening really special. Thank you."

"Travelling solo can be a pain for finding restaurants etc so as I was staying in the hotel I thought I would book with the in house restaurant. Foolishly I didn’t think to ask the price, expecting a menu, but on arrival was told it...was a buffet. Had booked and so went for it anyway, neglecting to ask the cost as a buffet can’t be expensive, can it? The food is tepid, very plain and generic, the veg laughable (roasted carrots, peas and broccoli boiled to death) and the price for this was per head!!!!…apparently more per head than last review. And they had the gall to then charge me for the water! Total bill for dinner was including wine and a tip!!! There are plenty of nice restaurants in the local area where you can get a nice meal and a bottle for cheaper, avoid this reheated rubbish at all costs"

"So much better on every level than the terrible terrace at the Old Quay House which is covered in bird s**t. These guys at the Toll Bar were friendly and hospitable and the view was great. They have heaters outside and not a seagull in sight."

"My husband and I live in Grantham, and wanted to eat somewhere a little different. So I called the Angel on the Thursday to book for the Friday. The lady on the phone was a little unsure, but checked and said we could have a table in the Kings Room. I have eaten in this room years ago and know just how beautiful it is. On arrival, we were a little disappointed to find that this Kings Room was actually set up for a wedding, so we were sent to another room. Not anywhere near as majestic, however still very nice. Slightly odd that there was a 'ghetto blaster ' in the corner playing cds, but the music had been well chosen. A young girl, who was serving the 12 covers on her own, was extremely welcoming, and did a fab job. The ONLY thing i would say is 1) i had to ask for my ciabatta bread which was supposed to be with my starter. However a lovely touch was the actual chef came out with the bread and apologised. 2) When she bought our bottle of wine out that we ordered she actually said 'are you ok pouring your wine or do you want me to do it? '. An unnecessary question, she should of course just poured it! The food was gorgeous, and the service (other than the above) was perfect. Lovely atmosphere, and not over priced either. Needless to say we will at some point be returning! Well done to the Angel!"

"I would highly recommend the Shorecrest Restaurant. The food was really lovely but what made the meal was the wonderful, friendly and attentive staff, in particular Jules. She made our evening and we will definitely be returning. Working in a customer facing job myself you appreciate good staff and Jules is definitely that!! Massive thanks."
