"Surprised there weren’t many people here, were traveling from Colorado home to Pennsylvania and found this spot in gorgeous old town Hays. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Was a little disappointed that the restaurant was out of ribs and only could offer 4 ribs at 7:30pm despite being open until 10pm but I got to try the beef burnt ends which ended up being great and a large portion size. They had also been out of milk so I was unable to try the root beer float beverage I had wanted, and instead went with a straight liquor cinnamon roll drink. Way too much alcohol for my taste buds but this place was definitely great and if I ever find myself in Hays again, I’ll be back in have some more."

"The brisket was delicious. Very lean and tasty. The sides of baked beans and baked potato salad and Mac and cheese were also excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant"

"I heard about the food here and it lived the hype. Had French Dip Burger at the National Burger Day with Fritten. decent aú jus and the Brezel rolls was a nice addition. Crispy Pommes, but weak mixed drinks."

"I ordered a shrimp quesadilla. Fortunately they put full rolls of paper towels on the table because it took over a dozen to sop up the amount of grease/oil that pooled in the bottom of my plate. I had to set it on paper towels on the table and dab it off just to make it edible.What are you adding to it to make it so greasy?? Guacamole was very salty. To the point we couldn't eat it. And my wife ordered a shrimp taco that only had two little shrimp in it. So for $35 we left hungry and tossed most of it in the garbage. And where we were sitting the music was far too loud. Fortunately we were just passing through so not going back won't be a problem."

"We came in on a Saturday with a fairly large party. The service was top notch! The Chocolate Old Fashioned and the Black Cherry Manhattan were outstanding! All of our food was great too. I especially enjoyed the tootsie roll appetizer and the brisket."

"My wife and I prefer BBQ places when we travel because of the ease of dining quickly and usually good food. Blue Smoke was a perfect example of both. We usually order the meat only options and here we ordered the brisket and ribs. Both were exceptional; naturally smoked flavor, tender and juicy. The staff was very good, making sure we got the cuts we wanted and the prices were very reasonable. Blue Smoke was one of the top places we visited."
