"The pub is a nice comfortable place, the vegan menus is good three of each main, starter and desert). The portions we're expensive £10 £13) considering the portion size, but very tasty. There's a pub car park too. Slightly confusingly they Mark a couple of things on the main menu vegan, but also have a separate menu with more so be sure to ask before thinking the main menu items are all that's available!"

"Had a wonderful evening in the curzon, eating was incredible, the staff very friendly and could not do enough for us. beautiful atmosphere, loved all fresh roses, a beautiful note. we will be back soon!"

"Food not much better than school dinners tbh..look taste. My ‘sirloin’ beef was grey bland, the Yorkshire pud felt old tough, the school dinner gravy was already poured onto the meat plate..it would’ve been nicer to have had it served separately. Accompanying mixed veg was ok the chocolate mousse nice enough. The staff were amiable but not really listening. The decor was scruffy dull, akin to a motorway eatery. At nearly 60 years old I was one of the younger customers there, the whole experience (also being jostled as to where how to park) made me homesick for London I couldn’t wait to get back."

"We were kindly greeted by the staff and the 4 of us ordered our appetizers and main course. After waiting for the staff for exactly one hour, waiting was not acceptable. The answer was that Mr. Britten was no longer connected to the restaurant and that there was a new cook, and the restaurant would run through a rebranding. We were in this phase offered a bottle of wine as a token gesture because of the delay, but we preferred to have delivered the meal than to drink more alcohol. 15 minutes later, the starter arrived and when we were asked if anything else could be brought, my guest struck a magnifying glass to see the tiny part of goat cheese and beet root. All four of us chose the Risotto that had agreed to us all was tasteless. No offer of discount etc. was made when the bill was presented, and we paid more than embarrassing the guests. This is not a rant from the blue as we have fed in Britten's since his opening and had some wonderful evenings. However, this experience was a disaster and not recommended for others, unless there is a complete change"

"This was just a quick beer and curry in the Astolat after work on a Sunday evening, but my colleagues and I were most pleasantly surprised. We chose to eat here because of the proximity to the station, but apart from the small but good selection of beers, the absolute stand out for us was the food. We all kept saying how delicious it was and at takeaway prices too! I can't recommend it highly enough!"

"Love the fact this place is dog friendly. Took my puppy here to sit outside and had just a coffee. The coffee was good and all the young staff are lovely. All except the male manager. I genuinely thought I had done something wrong as...he was so rude and grumpy towards me. However my mother in law went there recently as well and she said the same thing. Such a shame as the rest of the staff are really nice."

"We visited here tonight after a day exploring the area. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and the service throughout was exemplary, attentive, polite and genuine. The menu was standard pub grub and bargain prices. We had starters and main and I actually thought I was going to burst as I’d eaten so much! The food was excellent and the chicken and leek pie was particularly good, a solid filling and loads of meat. So, great service, good food, lovely atmosphere and bargain prices. Pretty much all you could ask for."
