"We found this little gem of a coffee shop on our day and went back every morning ! They even customized a coffee for me, Turmeric dry Cappuccino the staff are so wonderful and the baked goodies are dangerously good, try the chocolate...croissants and time it so they are just coming out of the oven ! And then walk through the ally to Salt Spring Adventures and take a kayak out for the day and leave the city behind .... such an amazing experience. I love this island !!"

"If I could only have one meal on Salt Spring Island, I would have it here. They offer all 3 meals during the day. The menu was nicely varied, and the surprise for us was the kale slaw, so don't overlook the sides. Alcohol is not served at the tables setup outside, so at busy times, you may need to wait. However, adjacent shops prevent boredom. This was the only restaurant of the 4 we tried where we had a second meal, our last one before we caught the ferry to begin our trip home. Note: if you are tall, be careful not to hit your head on the tree in the center of the cozy dining room!"

"The food here was delicious and cheap to boot with a beautiful view of the course when you sit on the terrace. The only thing that could have been improved was the service. This could be because between our sitting, handmade menus,...served, and our bills that we never saw the same person twice, so maybe there was a disturbance in communication. The galle that gave us our bills was very friendly, but during the meal we felt somewhat ignored on the terrace. I had to look for my own napkin and go without more water than nobody came to us. Everyone said the food was good and I would still return."

"Having had a wonderful late lunch at a local eatery we walked over to Embe Bakery to get a sweet treat to finish off the meal. Service was fine and the baked goods looked yummy. We bought a strudel and a chocolate covered peanut butter cooked and walked back to the car so we could drive to our place. Along the drive we decided to try the cookie. The chocolate was good but the cookie part was a little mushy, more than moist. A disappointment for sure. Then we tried the strudel. Unfortunately we were not able to finish it. It appeared to be under cooked and had cake inside it. I was not expecting apple strudel cake, and again , a wee bit mushy. This bakery has been here forever so it must be doing something right. Perhaps we were unlucky, but I will look elsewhere next time."

"We had a good experience. dill seafood alfredo was great. pesto pasta was great, but extra parmesan needed. when I added that, it was excellent. the French wobbly soup was average. all in all, I would recommend this point. they make a mean negroni!"
