"My friend ordered the lamb, but had to send it back because it was cold and hard. the cake was tasty, but the vegetables were overcooked and not good. the burger was dry. they seemed to be very short staff, as there was only one waiter and he was away from his feet, so the service was not good. very too expensive for what it is. disappointed"

"We regularly go with friends for Sunday lunch and we all agreed it was the best by far. Friendly and welcoming staff, they ensured I had a comfy seat as I had asked and the roast chicken was superb. Homemade Yorkshire pudding, beautiful fresh vegetables including cauliflower cheese and what stands this place apart is we were offered more veg and gravy with no extra charge. Recently had lunch near Sudbury and was charged £4.50 for a tiny bowl of awful cauliflower cheese. The desserts were also excellent, can recommend the crumble and chocolate mousse. Two courses for £27 very reasonable. We met the chef who was so enthusiastic about his food and we will definitely be back. Thank you Red Lion for restoring our love of Sunday lunches."

"A great place, despite a lack of local competition. Well staffed with attentive people. I enjoyed the golden and the pale ale. They were very accommodating for a large group. And the beer garden was fantastic. Would strongly recommend."
