"This has always been a holiday favourite but it felt extra special this time, so much so we visited several times for Sunday roast and quiz, a drink and takeaway and then a few drinks and a late lunch. Service was great every time, very friendly and helpful, and the pub generally was brilliant with a local but friendly vibe. We've been here many times in the past and it's always been good but this year it felt a cut above."

"Good service and vgood food at the Portreath Arms. Family group of 8 inc two children 6&3. Came 12 months ago and whilst food was ok service was very poor. They have really got there act together and the food was very good. Fresh fish on the menu and decent selection for vegetarians too. Service was friendly and helpful and some good beers too. Very much recommended but because it’s so busy you clearly need to book."

"We ate here last night as a family of four. We were booked for half seven but when we arrive our table was not ready. We had booked a window table but in the end we ended up the furthest point from the window, which...was disappointing. The place is beautiful inside and the staff were good and attentive. But our food took almost 45 minutes to arrive. The food went down well apart from the disappointment of cold chicken on the ceaser salad The team were apologetic for the the wait. But overall not not the most positive experience."

"You need to book in advance to get a table. Unfortunately, we were not able to book in advance. However, we were accommodated by their staff, and they asked us if it was okay that the table didn’t have a sea view. We immediately said no problem, since we went there for the food. We were very pleased since me and my friends are really hungry We ordered their scallops, crispy sesame chicken, chowder, King prawn and catch of the day. They were all exquisite!! we were happy with the chowder! I was just surprised with the serving of the scallops but overall, it was tasty! The staff were excellent, the location wise- accessible, the food was delicious, serving time was alright"

"An early evening meal here was good and the atmosphere is friendly, we were sheltered indoors this visit but when the weather is better you can be outside. Oh yes and when it is quiet you could use their indoor pool for a small change. We saw several people book it whilst we were there but didn 't come equipped to swim ourselves. Mawgan Porth also has small shops including one that still sells the last pots of the proverbial Roger 's Own Jams lovingly handmade in Trenance enjoy them! We first discovered this delicious local jam maker some 6 years ago and always buy a pot of strawberry or rasberry jam in a shop at St Mawgan. You can also buy the local farm eggs at the shop in St Mawgan."
