"Not the biggest choice in the world, but very tasty and good value for money, all orders cooked fresh, we had the special fried rice, garlic prawns and salt & pepper calamari, the calamari was the only disappointing dish as the batter wasn't salt or peppered but edible anyway, a few tables out front, inside and out the back as well plus it's licensed if you fancy alcohol with your noodles, worth a visit if you're on a budget"

"We visited here on a rainy cold Sunday! As we walk in we are welcomed straight away with our choice of table. We sit by the window and watch the rain. As we look at the menu, trying to decide we have a couple waiters come up to us and ask if we were ready to order, both times declined as we were chatting, we order the double decker, on a brioche bun, instead of red onion we asked if we could Substitute for caramelised onion instead. We also ordered a large chips and some beers. Our drinks come out quickly imported beers from Italy! Very nice! Then our chips, the chips were pretty average, standard like you would get in a pub with some tomato sauce on the side. The burgers came out bout 5 minutes after which was good. The burger was very nice and it made it better with the caramelised onion. The burger was cooked med well, nice balanced. Burger alone 9/10. The place itself was nicely decorated in old style, chairs and tables were picked from second hand shops...

"Perfect seat by the beach, greeted by the most friendly waitress who gave us impeccable service throughout the night. We had the seafood platter for two which could have fed three with such a generous serve (the only reason some was left on the plate) and was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The flavours were amazing. Accompanied by a Greek Sparkling (something different). Ended the night with a delicious array of desserts and the perfect cup of espresso. Couldn't fault anything. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely return :)"

"Stumbled into this little restaurant for a quick lunch. It did not disappoint, with tasty and quick food on the table, reasonable prices for the magnificent view which is thrown in for free! Our original table had another party sit in front of us and our table person immediately helped us move to another table with a view. Special shout out to Mitchell for being considerate and attentive. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"The people I went with had the lobster special and raved with every mouthful about how delicious it was. When they moved onto dessert (citrus tart) they said it was the best dessert they’d ever eaten, and discussed flying to Adelaide to eat at this restaurant for their birthday!<br/ <br/ I had a pizza and thought it was pretty good too. If you’re in Glenelg it’s worth a visit. Staff were friendly and attentive too."

"Holdfast Shores is like the Docklands of Melbourne. Looks great, beautiful location, but for some reason it doesn't seem to pull in a tone of visitors. There are some gem restaurants however, and Oyster Bar is definitely one of them. The food was spectacular, priced on point, and the service friendly and helpful. Perfect for a sunny day of grazing on the kind of food you only get on special occasions, and a bottle of wine. If you love seafood you definitely won't be disappointed!"

"Can't even comment on the food because we could get anything to eat. We turned up at 7:50 on Saturday night and was told by the management that the kitchen weren't taking any more orders as they were too busy! I thought the idea of being a bistro was to make money. Anyway, I wouldn't take any notice of their 12 midnight closing time."
