"Unfortunately it was disappointing, was so looking forward to Boxing Day meal here having past many times to see it so full. We chose pate and sour dough crackers for starters which was nice but the crackers were too thin and couldn’t be picked up without breaking making it hard to eat and messy, sour dough toast would be better. Hubby had rotisserie chicken which he sent back as it was really cold in the middle, it must have been bad as he hates making a fuss as he is a chef but felt it was that cold it was unsafe. Received same piece of chicken back which was a surprise as I expected a fresh piece of chicken, obviously a cooked piece of chicken to start with reheated twice, not good! I had the cartmel sausage which was a Cumberland ring on champ mash and root veg, it was nice but it was plain mash with chives sprinkles! For £50 it’s the going rate but felt it wasn’t value for money. Would I go back, no sorry I wouldn’t. Friendly staff and quite nice surroundings. Half the menu is pizzas but non available. Should have gone to the place opposite, we live and learn!"
