"My wife and I popped in during our recent trip to Victoria and we were more than pleased with our food...My wife had their Boo Box cocktail and I went with an IPA. We split the Bodega board which had a little bit of everything...The food was great and we had several people walking by stop and ask "what is that?"...This was our first meal in Victoria and definitely set the bar high for everyone else during our trip."

"Booked through Open Table as it was last minute so I needed restaurants that could seat 6. Valet and self Parking stipulated as available and reimbursed if dining which , of course, we were.Valet openly rude to my husband when we tried to have car parked . I went inside to show reception staff Open Table parking terms but my husband had already left to find street parking and there was a long line at reception so we just were seated in restaurant and figured valet behavior was one off.Evening didn't improve . Slow inattentive service. Also waiter spoke so quietly we could hardly hear him. Food not memorable (at least in a good way). New England seafood chowder had three small mussels in it and nothing more. Wanted dessert but only had 25" before we had to leave for another event. Based on slowness of service, wisely asked waiter if we had time to order and leave in 25". He said no. At least he was honest. Definitely not a $250 meal. We travel widely and are always appreciative of wait staff but for an upscale hotel, this was a poor showing to say the least . Wish we'd made reservations earlier /elsewhere. The late res. is our fault."

"Shockingly bar experience with many issues. We booked for a party of 10. First the server spilled a drink on my husbands shirt. The apology was odd, “oh sorry” but very nonchalant. Then the server left the table without taking one guests order, came back and apologized once notified. A guest ordered a burger with just cheese and ketchup and was brought a plain, burnt patty and dry bun. When notified they refused to put cheese and condiments and insisted on making a new burger. The new one came with cheese, relish and tons of onions, was supposed to also have bacon. Another guests dinner was 20 minutes behind for a “kitchen mixup”. Brought the wrong alcoholic drink that wasn’t ordered and charged for extra drinks on the bill that were never ordered. All in all not a good experience."

"As a former peregrina I seek out all possible references to the Camino. So on my recent visit to Victoria I had to try this restaurant (Santiago in James Bay....can’t be a coincidence right I went for breakfast and had the breakfast burrito. Portion size...was great, super tasty, potatoes (hash browns) were perfectly cooked and service was attentive yet unobtrusive. I would come back again."
