"A real shame about the service we waited 45 minutes for 2 starters of fish cakes and chicken skewers didn't get clean cutlery for our mains and nobody asked if we wanted any more drinks the restaurant was not even busy it is a shame as the food we had was very nice but we wouldn't go back due to very poor service the staff seemed to interested in looking at there phones at the bar rather than looking after there guests"

"This review is not about the food which is passable, there are better Indian restaurants in the area. I visited with friends and although most of the staff are OK there is one older gentleman serving who as soon as we had finished our meal brought the bill and asked if we were paying cash or card, we said card, he straight away brought the card reader and said are you putting service on the card, we said no we will leave cash. We felt we were being rushed into paying, almost as if we weren't trusted. This waiter then went to sit and have his meal but kept looking over, as soon as we put our tip on the table he stopped eating, came over took the tip and put it in his pocket and went to finish his meal. He wasn't our main server but looks like he was keeping our tip. It left us with a nasty feeling. I thought he was very rude the way he was acting. It's a shame as the other waiters seemed nice. I won't be going back."

"Had a lovely meal in here Thursday evening. The manager Kieran gave us a wonderful entrance and his staff were so lovely. The food was delicious, you've got to try the PBBJ, the peanut butter makes it so tasty!! Highly recommend this place to anyone, great portions and reasonably priced."

"Excellent! the family and all generations enjoyed very good delicious eating. the waitress was attentive and looked like she would enjoy her job and be there easy! it is the place to go now in newbury as they have to book in the evening. his great name is spreading quickly!"

"Broke our journey on the M4 for a lunch stop and glad we did. Good home cooked food, generous portions well presented in a reasonable time. Friendly staff who were very welcoming. Good 'old fashioned ' pub with some lovely craft ales. Pleased we came here and happy to recommend."

"I organised a party for my wife’s birthday and expected to have a nice time with 20 odd guests including toddler children joining us. While the food and hospitality was great, Unfortunately I was never informed that there would be a vintage car display in the same outdoor area which overlooks the car park. Some of the car patrons were not very happy to see kids running around their cars, perhaps with reason, but one of them was downright rude with ‘I don’t want to see your child’s dirty hands on my car’ (racist? Many of us were Indian). While, I appreciate that nothing else happened and the pub was great on what was a lovely day for us, I would have probably liked it if I was told about this in advance for me to replan for perhaps some other establishments which I know from experience are more welcoming of younger guests esp with other events going on at the same time. I don’t see any reason for me to go back to the volunteer anytime soon. Thanks!"
