"We went for a pre-theatre meal and the venue was perfect. Right in the centre of town and we had a great window seat. Service was excellent and all the staff very attentive. Food was also excellent and everything arrived quickly, piping hot (where necessary) and served with a smile. Great 'softails ' too!"

"I had built on the idea of a two cure meal of my choice x, but because the poor bloody cook on itself was the £24.99 deal was sawed x three small? teller and a bottle wein for £24.99 x even if she had a solo dinner xx I enjoyed everything I could eat but had to end quite a bit x now not wrong with him just too much x"

"Went here as our usual choice of restaurant was fully booked, I'm now struggling to decide which is my favourite! The food and service was excellent, hot fresh delicious food presented extremely well. All of the staff were friendly and attentive especially the manager. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I have no doubt we will be back"

"Never been here before but was recommended. We weren't given a menu when we were shown to our table, we had to get someones attention to request one. Waited quite a long time for our order to be taken, but the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We originally ordered the 4 wave menu, but after wave 1 requested it be changed to the 2 wave one, which they did accomodate. The first wave was nice, a meze board, but the second was disappointing. A massive bowl of shrimp crackers, cheap cuts of meat, some rice. Cost £30 per head which I thought was way over priced. We sat upstairs and the corner we were sat in was so dark you could hardly read the menu or see what you were eating. I would return to try a different dish, but request to sit downstairs"

"Having moved to the area recently we visited as a family and ordered several rounds of drinks as the pub is on convenient walking distance. Asides from having zero atmosphere, the service we received was appalling. We ordered a round of drinks at 7.20pm to be told at 7.30pm that we needed to leave and drink outside as they were closing. Not only did we receive a rude response from the owner when we informed him that that was an unreasonable request, he had the audacity to claim that we should have known they were closing and would be expected to leave. We will not be returning until new owners inevitably take over due to lack of custom."

"Booked a table for my wife and I as it was my Wife’s birthday that day.This was booked as we had previously dinned at hawkstone a few times over the years.Very noisy due to a function and we were sat at table number surrounding grass windows etc very dirty but may have been due to the function that’s day.We greeted well and taken to our table but unknown to us was that the doors near us led outside to a smoking area so we have several occasions were all we could smell was second hand smoke and a cold draft.The waitresses were polite but there seemed to be a lack of organisation or training.The food was OK but not to the standard we had been used to at Hawketone.Overall very disappointing especially as I had booked this for a nice quiet birthday meal with my Wife"
