"Its my go to sushi place. Never a bad meal. Its the only good place in the area where i live and is always consistent. It is a little bit on the pricey side compared to others in the area but its worth it because of the quality amd consistency."

"Went there because of good Open Table reviews. Both sushi and hot food were disappointing. Service was incredibly slow and we were one of 2 tables in the entire restaurant. Wouldn't go back, wouldn't recommend. Try any other of the sushi restaurants down Osborne."

"I've been driving a lot of paints past this place, but because of the ones not stopped. the place is guided by a few and the whole food is made in the house. very reasonable day specialties and a great value. I had one of the sushi options... and it was fresh. my midday meeting said that the tempura was also very good. my only complaining was that the green tee in a bag in the cup did not get loose tee in a pot."

"Edokko had been open only a few days when we went for lunch in late December. The decor is modern, chic, airy with a large windows to the street, several curved booths and a decent sized sushi bar. Wait staff were welcoming (although I wish the chefs would loudly welcome guests as they do in Japan!) and subsequent meal service was prompt and friendly. We tried 2 different lunch sets - the Lunch Bento at $10 included soup, salad, fruit and choice of 2 rolls, in this case California and Salmon maki. The other choice was the Edokko Special Kaisen Don at $20 which included miso soup, green salad with sesame dressing, potato salad appetizer, assorted sashimi on a bowl of rice, chawan mushi, fruit.The sashimi was fresh, nicely cut, proper temperature, varied selection. Rice was perfectly cooked. Miso was flavourful with wakame and tofu. Chawan mushi is a bit of a rarity in Winnipeg I believe. This was beautifully prepared, silky in texture with a tasty broth and bits of shrimp, chicken and mushroom. Lots of choices (no nigiri sushi at lunch) and the dinner menu is larger.We'll certainly be back - I think once the word is out, this place will be extremely busy! Happy New Year to Edokko!"
